Jai Shri Guru Deva Dattatreya Namah

Shri Dattatreya Jayanti

Tithi: Mrigshirsha Purnima

Dandvat Pranaam and Bowing down to GuruTattva in Shri Dattatreya on the occasion of Dattatreya Janma Jayanti.

Shri Dattatreya is a Rishi Sadhu who practiced intense Tapasya in both Vedic/Yog maarg and Tantra maarg.

In states like Bengal, Gujarat and Maharashtra, Karnataka & more,

Shri Dattatreya is considered to be an avatar or incarnation of Bhagwan Brahma, Vishnu and Shiv, and hence Shri Dattatreya is also known an TriNath.

In certain regions, Shri Dattatreya is considered to be an incarnation or avatar of Bhagwan Shri Vishnu only and hence, is worshipped as a One-headed form.

GuruDev Vishuddhanand Paramhamsa also worshipped Bhagwan Dattatreya and he also stayed in one of the Siddha Dattatreya Kshetra that is located at Girnar mountain peak in Junagadh, Gujarat.

Girnar parvat or mountain peak is one among the many Tapasya bhumis of Shri Dattatreya.

Even in present times Girnar parvat has the Dattatreya Charan Paduka (Feet of Shri Dattatreya) worshipped at the top point, while Guru Gorakshanath temple is a little on the lower end.

While, GuruDev Vishuddhanand Paramhamsa was on Bharat Bhraman, during the journey, he also stayed with many Natha Sadhus in the Girnar & Himalayas, who blessed him with the sadhanas of Nathas.

Many Sadhus - Sants - Sanyasi, both males and females have done Tapasya around this Siddha Dattatreya Kshetra, since past many centuries.

ParaBrahm and GuruTattva both at Sukshma or Subtle level are surely one.

But for a Sadhak, who is in Saguna Sharir or Body form, when one worships Shri Guru Dattatreya, the experience attained becomes that of an Avadhut.
