SHRI VISHUDDHANAND PARAMHAMSA

Mastering Nadi Vigyan

Nadis are an important part of a human body. It can be considered equivalent to our nervous system. While, most of us know about Nadi through a Nadi Vaidya or Nadi Jyotish, Pranayama and Nadi Practices have also become known to many these days.

In the Tantra maarg, specifically while life is about the balance of Shakti at all Chakra points, Nadis play a significant part. When purity persists on Body - Mind - Soul level, a Tantrik experiences a smooth & equal flow of breath from both nostrils at the same time.

GuruDev Vishuddhanand Paramhamsa is also known as Gandha Baba. He is called so for a reason. A pleasant smell like that of a flower would be experienced by many in the place where he would be present. This is known to many as Padma Gandha.

The smell that spreads through the navel or Nabhi is called Padma Gandha and it is possible when a Sadhu has an active Sushumna Nadi.GuruDev would breathe through the pure air of the Sushumna Nadi and not the polluted air from the outside.

It is a part of the Nadi Vigyaan, that when anyone reaches the state of purity, breathing through the Sushumna Nadi becomes possible. Though it requires, Sadhna and consistent Tapa to reach this stage of Vigyaan.

Japa maala and Grahan

Once Gurudev spoke about the importance of the eclipse time or the Grahan time with regards to spiritual practices.

There was a Chandra Grahan or Lunar Eclipse that day and GuruDev was in Varanasi/ Kaashi. He called few Sadhaks, handed them few offerings and asked them to give it to the needy people around the Ganga Ghat.

Though he was feeling low health, he continued to converse with the Sadhaks.

That Day, Baba said something about Grahan/ Eclipse. He said that when a Sadhak or a Seeker does Jaap maala of his/her IshtaDev/ Ishta Devì 108 times during the Grahan Kaal (Eclipse time), it is equivalent to doing Jaap maala 1008 times on the usual days.

Also, about the Pious city of Kaashi he mentioned that the land of Kaashi has the vibrations of numerous Saadhus. That is why Jaap Maala done 108 times during Grahan Kaal in the city of Kaashi is equivalent to 10008 times Jaap maala done elsewhere. Hail the city of Kaashi and may Divine grace bring Light to all!!

Tantrik Sadhana & Body temperature

GuruDev lived many days in Guskara, Purba Bardhhaman in West Bengal.

In his room there also lived a Serpent God or Naag Devata with him.

When Baba would practice Kriya Sadhana, his body would build up lot of internal heat or Pitta element as per Ayurved.

At this moment, he would call the Serpent God and wrap Naag Devata around his body. This helped his heated body to cool down. Baba would call this Naag Devata as ShivDas. Whenever, Baba used to utter ShivDas, the Serpent would come near GuruDev. ShivDas never used to bite anyone but he would keep away any mishappenings in the house by making the hissing sounds.

Once GuruDev was out and a housekeeper entered Babas room to take the broomstick. The housekeeper was unaware of the presence of ShivDas.As soon as the housekeeper entered the room, ShivDas hissed at him and out of fear, the housekeeper fell unconscious.

Later, when Baba came back home, he understood the situation and treated the housekeeper and he was back to normal state of health. ShivDas, the Serpent was a true devotee & support for Vishuddhanand Baba during his intense Hatha Yoga practices, Tantrik sadhanas & Kriya Karmas.

Hail the Serpent God who is the protector of the Saints, Tantriks, Yogis & Sadhaks!!
