Shri Vishuddhanand Paramhamsa was born on 29th Phalgun(Bengali Hindu calendar) and 14th March, 1853 in Bondul village in Bardhhaman, Bengal.GuruDev was born to Shri Akhil Chandra Chattopadhyay and Shri Raj Rajeshvari Devi in a pious Brahmin family.
Considering his innocence and pure heart, he was named as Bholanath.Young Bholanath would worship Maa Kali, Shiv Shambho and Shyam Sundar daily along with his mother.
He lost his father when he was few months old, so his paternal uncle took care of his schooling till 8 years of age. Later, after the passing away of his uncle, his mother Raj Rajeshwari Devi managed the entire household.
Bholanath was kind hearted and a straight forward child with compassion for needy, weak and ignored people around him. He would bathe & swim in the nearby pond, climb trees and play with his young friends in the village. He also learnt Sanskrit and completed his schooling. Bholanath was always curious about meeting sadhus and tapasvis. Whenever he got to know the whereabout of a sadhu, he would find a way to go and meet them.

He was dedicated to his Guru & never disobeyed Gurus instruction. His spiritual training school was Gyanganj or Siddhashram ahead of Kailash mansarovar in Tibet.
In Tantra maarg, Navmundi Asan is considered to be the highest and is rare in the Universe. It is said that there are only two Navmundi Asans in the entire Universe, one in Varanasi at Shri Vishuddhanand Kanan Ashram and one at Siddhashram or Gyanganj ahead of Kailash Mansarovar.GuruDev Vishuddhanand Paramhamsa attained the sadhana of Navmundi asana (Varanasi) which is the highest realisation on the Shakti path of Tantra.
With his Gurus instruction, he married Maa Krishna Bhamini Devi and became a father of three children, one daughter and two sons. He continued his household duties and Sadhanas even after marriage and became a Tirtha Swami.GuruDev lost his mother, wife, daughter and son around 1911 in a single year after the Bondul Ashram was established. The multiple deaths created more subtle vairagya in the deep core of GuruDev.
There were or there are many Sadhus or scientists who talk about possibilities of Adhyaatma or Vigyan, but Shri Vishuddhanand Paramhamsa merged both and showed that Adhyaatma or Paramatman and Vigyaan or Atoms, Mundane and Subtle are all one. He is the only saint who made ever unbelievable spiritual output. GuruDev had a scientific outlook to the ancient wisdom along with the medical insights as he was also a qualified Homoeopath and Ayurved Practitioner.
Shri Vishuddhanand Paramhamsa had mastered Ashta siddhis but he used it only for good of people. Britishers or others would come to him to talk about science and spirituality but he would deny talking too much. He disliked too much of public life. His solitude was his dedication to the Divine.
